Passenger Boat Service

"LRDC Passenger Boat Service" was launched as a concept of His Excellency the President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, transporting passengers through the canal system across Colombo to bypass the heavy traffic in the city roads of Colombo.

In the first phase, passengers will be transported from Wellawatte to Battaramulla in 20 minutes. For the convenience of the passengers, there are 2 stop-stations on this way. The first stop is Havelock Town, located near the 138/122 Colombo-Maharagama-Kottawa bus route. The second stop is located near the Open University of Sri Lanka. From here you can reach the 176 Dehiwala-Nugegoda-Hettiyawatta bus route.

These boats are operated by retired Navy personnel and we are constantly committed to ensuring the safety of passengers by following proper hygiene procedures due to Covid-19 pandemic.
